This week's Gaming Life in Japan features videos from the World Hobby Fair, a look at the major magazine releases and over 35 commercials, including spots for Star Wars, which is scheduled to hit theaters for early release in 7/2 and full release on 7/9.
We'll have a closer look next week on IGN Cube, but for our early look at the title from last week, turn to page to our collection of links. One of the most charming titles we've played all year - dare we say, all generation - Chibi is a classic that's, unfortunately, coming too late in the GameCube's life. While the chances of anyone buying a Cube game that doesn't begin with "Zelda," are slim, we can't get enough of Skip's Chibi Robo. Nintendo is also making strong impressions, believe it or not, on GameCube.
Meanwhile, while Nintendo didn't have any major DS announcements, it doesn't have to - Nintendogs and its adult-oriented DS products have made DS the number one system in Japan four week's running. The non-stop flood of PSP ports gave way to the announcement of a couple of original titles. The game market as a whole seems to be heating up in the two months prior to the Tokyo Game Show, with new products being announced, particularly for the portables.
